How it started
The night the dynamic flipped.
My FWB and I were lying in bed one night (two months after we met) when she said there was something she wanted to talk about.
She was headed overseas for work after the weekend, and felt this was the best time to speak her mind.
She seemed hesitant.
Things up till then had been great. 2 months of insatiable, hungry and passionate sex. We were having the time of our lives.
Still apprehensive, she finally said she was catching feelings. And then…
“I don’t know if I can keep doing this as a casual thing.”
I paused and looked at her.
What she didn’t know was, I had a feeling this was gonna happen. It was just a matter of time. I saw it coming because the both of us truly enjoyed each other’s company.
About a week prior, I had thought about our situation. I was convinced given a few more months, we would become exclusive. I was so confident she would say yes to being my girlfriend if I asked.
Because our connection was stronger than any other I’ve had. My relationship with my ex of 5 years 6 months (let’s call her Pam) didn’t come close to this amazing feeling.
But I figured waiting another 1-2 months would be less hasty, and so I didn’t mention anything.
“So do you want to make this exclusive?”
And now she’s raised the topic first.
It still felt a bit strange seeing the dynamic flip. In the past 3-4 years, I’ve had more women catch feelings for me as compared to before.
Ever since the breakup with Pam, I’d gone through a self development journey. It was a striking change in the physical, character and mindset.
Simply put, I leveled up a fair bit.
When that happened, my dates got better. More attractive women gave me attention, and a lot more stayed beyond the first date.
This self development journey brought about a heightened awareness in what I was doing right in my dating life, because I deliberately took the time out to think and reflect.
And that was how I came up with the Affinity Method.
